Search and Rescue Institute New Zealand (SARINZ) Charitable Trust exists to help others save lives.
"Helping others save lives" is not only our tag line, it's our core belief.

Investing in research, development and advancing all aspects of Search and Rescue (SAR) and Emergency Management (EM) is what we are founded on. We provide grants and assistance to organisations who assist in meeting our core outcomes as defined by the SARINZ Trust Deed.

The purpose of SARINZ, as set out in the Trust Deed, is to:

Educate the public of New ZealandTo further the education of the public of New Zealand in matters related to search and rescue.

Support an effective and efficient search and rescue capabilityTo provide education, training and assessment for the purposes of developing and retaining an internationally credible, effective and efficient search capability and rescue capability throughout New Zealand.

Promote Research and DevelopmentUndertake, promote, and support research and development relating to search and rescue.
